Abandonment

WORD OF THE WEEK

Abandonment:  The Act of Giving Something Up

Look to the Word

My God, My God, Why has Thou forsaken me? -- Psalms 22:1

My Story:

I was looking out the window, while on the train yesterday, when we came upon an industrial strip of warehouses and buildings.  Since, the train ran in back of the buildings I was able to get a different view than that of the main street.

The property was overgrown, weeded, filled with discarded building parts and torn down fences.  I said to myself "what a mess!"  Some areas were larger than others.  They held much potential for use but laid wasted and "abandoned."

I couldn't help but to think that at one time or another that the owners were handed the keys to their building and surveyed that very area with great pride and accomplishment.  Knowing that they were going to put the property to good use and that they would even have enough space to expand, if needed.  What happen?  Life, death, changes, transitions, bankruptcies, failures, losses, neglect and the list goes on.

Christ uttered these very words thousands of years ago and for some rings true today!  Christ was on the last leg of His mission when these words were utter!  The fact that Christ spoke those words are important!  These words spoken in Psalms 22 were of a prophetic nature.  It foretold of His cruxificion.  At this point Christ had been rejected by the very people that He came to save.  While hanging, insults from the crowd gather were hurled at Him.  The woman who gave birth to Him stood by helpless to save her Son.

With all this, He knew that His suffering served "purpose."  Some say that He spoke these words for our very benefit.  That we would understand that He willingly submitted to the Will of The Father.  That we, too, when drawn in our darkest purpose would take courage and fulfill our "purpose."

These words were spoken moments before He EXHALED!  Why this Lord?  Why me Lord?  Why can't I get a break?  Why is everything falling apart?  Why aren't I further than I am now?  The "Why" in our lives  have already been answered.  Innately, we know but we have not DIED to the task at hand to Exhale?

After the cruxificion, came Victory!

If you are feeling abandoned, just know that He has not forsaken you!  A time of refreshing and Exhale is waiting on the other side of the task at hand.  Live so that (But let) patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. -- James 1:4

Let's Pray:
Dear Father, In the Precious Name of Jesus we come.  Asking for forgiveness that we may find your perfect peace in the midst of our soul.  Holy Spirit I ask that you lead and guide us into ALL truth that we may be thoroughly furnish to fight off the offences, rejections, abuses, and wiles of the enemy.  Strengthen us to fight the good fight of faith.  I pray for the one that cannot put one foot in front of the other, that cannot lift up their head, who faces another bill, that doesn't know where to turn.  You are the answer.  Engulf them in your love and peace and make a way of escape from the spirit of abandonment in Jesus' Name.

Inner Peace

INNER PEACE

God is the source of my serenity.  I am at peace.  At times I may tend to feel discouraged and challenged, yet I can transform such thoughts and feelings and know a peaceful state of mind.  Letting go of any need to struggle, I allow the peace of God to fill my senses.  I am at peace because God is the source of my serenity.

In the silence, I dwell in the perfect peace of God.  For these moments in time there is nothing I must think, say, or do.  I can just be, building a consciousness of peace.  As I begin moving from this inner experience out into my day, I bring this consciousness of serenity with me.  In the midst of busy daily activities, I am serene and at peace.  At any time, I have the ability to make the choice to go within to my internal wellspring of peace and maintain my sense of calm and serenity.

Republican's Plot to Sabotage U.S. Economy

Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan & Kevin McCarthy: Plot To Sabotage US Economy with Frank Luntz

On January 20, 2009 Republican Leaders in Congress literally plotted to sabotage and undermine U.S. Economy during President Obama's Inauguration.
In Robert Draper's book, "Do Not Ask What Good We Do: Inside the U.S. House of Representatives" Draper wrote that during a four hour, "invitation only" meeting with GOP Hate-Propaganda Minister, Frank Luntz, the below listed Senior GOP Law Writers literally plotted to sabotage, undermine and destroy America's Economy.

The Guest List:
Frank Luntz - GOP Minister of Propaganda
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA)
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA),
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX),
Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX),
Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI)
Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA),
Sen. Jim DeMint (SC-R),
Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ-R),
Sen. Tom Coburn (OK-R),
Sen. John Ensign (NV-R) and
Sen. Bob Corker (TN-R).

Non-lawmakers present Newt Gingrich

During the four hour meeting:
The senior GOP members plotted to bring Congress to a standstill regardless how much it would hurt the American Economy by pledging to obstruct and block President Obama on all legislation.
These Republican members of Congress were not simply airing their complaints regarding the other party's political platform for four long hours.  No, these Republican Congressional Policymakers, who were elected to do 'the People's work' were literally plotting to sabotage, undermine and destroy the U.S. Economy.

Mitt Romney, who has hired most of Bush/Cheney Policy Advisers, and the GOP party believe they can defeat President Obama, take control of the Senate and maintaining control of the House of Representatives so long as the economic recovery stalls. So they are actively trying to make it happen ... and that's what hate-propaganda Minister Frank Luntz had in mind when he organized the January 20, 2009 covert meeting.
Republicans do not pay Frank Luntz to offer ideas for good policy to help America, rather, Republicans pay Luntz' to devise lies that will keep Americans dumb and ignorant to facts on policy. For decades Republicans have paid Frank Luntz to tell them (Republicans) what to say in order to brainwash 'the People' with lies and hate to destroy policy.
Luntz does not use words to merely have Americans "change their minds."  Rather, Frank Luntz uses words intentionally to dumb-down Americans and fill them with lies and hate so as to brainwash and program Americans to hate a given policy.
Frank Luntz, like many Hate-Propaganda Ministers, loathes the notion of honesty in debate.  Also, like many Hate-Propaganda Ministers, Frank Luntz wants total control ... total control even it if means destroying America.  So, Luntz uses the tactics similar to Joseph Goebbels: spread hate, lies and fear in order to gain control.  (More on Frank Luntz at the end of this Diary).
Remember, for months prior to January 20, 2009, America had been losing over 750,000 jobs per month because of policies these same elected Republican lawmakers had enacted and their goal, their goal that night, was to plot ways to sabotage and undermine any and all legislation that would pull American families up and out of the economic calamity they [lawmakers] had helped create.
Two months after their covert meeting where they plotted to sabotage the US Economy, in March 2009, Rep. Pete Sessions said Republicans should follow the model of the Taliban in its battles against President Obama.

Mitt Romney for President?

Romney wants to bring a Sense of Pride to African Americans

This is an e-mail that was sent to me this morning referring to Mitt Romney:

I just had to share these comments that Mitt Romney made and I'm telling you all we better take this election business serious cause these GOP folks are way beyond crazy, here's what Romney said:

"I understand how difficult it can be for an African-American in today's
society.  In fact, I can relate to black people very well indeed.  My ancestors once owned slaves, and it is in my lineage to work closely with the black community.  However, just because they were freed over a century ago doesn't mean they can now be freeloaders.  They need to be told to work hard, and the incentives just aren't there for them anymore.  When I'm president I plan to work closely with the black community to bring a sense of pride and work ethic back into view for them".  -Mitt Romney.

Welcome Arms

I was looking out the window of my evening train when I saw a tall man looking frantically.  The train had just pulled into the station and he apparently had been anxiously waiting for someone.

He looked and walked briskly past the first two train cars and proceeded down the platform when he suddenly stopped dead in his tracks.  He had located the person he was looking for.

I saw the widest and deepest smile that his face could possible don.  There she was all 5'3 inches of her.  His arms openned wide and his 6'5 inch frame seemed to swallow her.  He wrapped her in his embrace and shook her.  He grabbed her bags and held her around her shoulders.

From the side view of his face as he begin to (what I presume) asked her about her day, he was still smiling, so happy to see her!

What crossed my mine was that he usually sees her off in the morning!  He stands and watches until she takes a seat and waves at her as the train pulls out of the station!

It caused me to think of what it must be like when the Father, who has watched and loved us all our life, stands with Welcome Arms as we end the journey of this earthly life.

What anticipation and excitement there must be when we finally walk into His Presence.

I'm thankful for Welcome Arms!

Autumn

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf's a flower.” – Albert Camus.

We have entered into another season of our lives.  That which seems to have died and released itself from the holder of dreams or life.

The fall season is a preview of change before the frigid winter season again.  Autumn is alive with deep, rich ruby to bright yellow-orange color.  Signifying a celebration of the senses and changes.

Celebrate this Autumn season with grace!
